ANY B.H.S.P.O.A.
CLUB MEMBER WHO LIVES IN THE
NEIGHBORHOOD IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR
ONE (1) BOAT SLIP FOR
THEMSELVES OR A MEMBER OF THEIR IMMEDIATE FAMILY
WHO RESIDES PERMANENTLY UNDER THE SAME
ROOF AND MUST SHOW PROOF
OF SAME.
1.
Membership dues to BHSPOA and the
boat slip fee must be paid by
March 1st if the member wishes to retain their boat slip. For a
list of all applicable fees(s) send us an email.
2.
No boat slip will be assigned
unless the application form is completely filled out
(see Boat Basin Chairman for
application).
3.
Waiting list: Failure to accept a
boat slip when one becomes available will result in the forfeiture of the
slip to the next eligible person on the waiting list.
Declining a slip will also result in
the applicant's name being placed back to the
bottom of the waiting list.
4.
A copy of your valid NJ boat registration must accompany your
application; the boat must be registered in the active club member's name.
All boats must have current liability insurance. A copy of the liability
insurance and the bill of sale must accompany the application. Failure
to do so will nullify the application and result in the loss of the slip.
The primary operator of the boat must have a NJ Safe Boating Certificate.
5.
No boats may be moored prior to March 1st. All boats must
be removed by December 31st. All boats must be in their assigned
slips by July 1st. If not, the Boat Basin Chairman shall reassign
the slip. All boats must be in running condition at the time of launch.
6.
Membership number must be on the transom of the boat. Member Number
must be at least 2 inches high.
7.
Two (2) fenders (bumpers) must be on both starboard & port sides of
the boat.
8.
Bow mooring weights shall not exceed 20 lbs. for each line. Bowlines
must be long enough so that mooring weights are fully submerged in the water
at low time, and off bottom at high tide.
9.
Boat widths and lengths
determine the slips assigned by the Boat Basin
Chairman. All slips can be reassigned at
the Boat Basin Chairman's discretion.
10.
Maximum/Minimum boat size is as
follows:
Min.-Max. Hull
length: 13-22 Ft. (As indicated on the Boat Registration)
Min.-Max. Hull
width: 5-8 ft.
Any boat with a
beam wider than 8 ft. is eligible for a boat slip in the boat basin at the sole discretion of the Boat
Basin Chairman.
11.
All club, state, and federal
regulations will be strictly enforced.
12.
All boats will be inspected for
rule violations. Violations must be corrected
within seven (7) days or your boat slip
may be reassigned to the next eligible
applicant awaiting a slip.
13.
Any boat owner may fasten a dock
box approved by the Boat Basin Chairman to the dock behind their boat if
they choose to do so. (Contact the Boat Basin
Chairman for regulations).
14.
All members must maintain their
boats, slips, and equipment in a safe and neat
manner, including boarding platform and
approved dock box. The boarding
platform must conform to the boat basin design.
15.
Keys to the launch ramp are
available to BHSPOA members for $10.00. All
persons wishing to use the ramp must
adhere to the rules and regulations. Any violation will result in the loss
of ramp privileges.
16.
Personal Watercraft (i.e., Jet Skis, Wave Runners, etc.) are not
entitled to a slip. Also, as of January 1, 2002, Jet Boats are not entitled
to a slip. Any person with a Jet Boat in a slip prior to January 1, 2002 is
grandfathered and may remain in the boat basin. Personal watercraft may be
launched at the ramp. Operators must abide by all club rules. No excess
speed, noise, wake, or careless driving is permitted. Violators will lose
their ramp privileges.
17.
If a member purchases a new boat, with the intention of berthing it
in his slip, he must make sure the new boat meets all boat basin rules and
regulations (see #10) or loss of slip will result.
18.
When removing a boat for the winter, all bowlines must be removed or
secured so that there is no tension on the cable during the winter months.
Stern lines and hoses must be removed for the winter months. Do not drain
bilge, etc., on the street. If bilge is dirty (oil, etc.) drain into a
container and dispose of properly. Do not power wash the boat hull at the
boat basin.
19.
Water faucets are to be turned on only by the use of a handle that
can be purchased at any hardware store. Do not use pliers to turn the water
on.
20.
The BHSPOA is not responsible for any theft or damage to personal
property while it is at the boat basin. This includes your boat, car, or
dock box.
21.
Violation of any of the above rules and regulations may result in the
loss of your assigned boat or ramp privileges. All decisions are the
responsibility of the Boat Basin Chairman and the BHSPOA Board of Trustees.
22.
Any active club member with boat basin privileges determined by the
Board of Trustees to have violated the boat basin rules and regulations for
the purpose of providing a boat slip to a non-member by way of fraud, sham,
or deceit shall forfeit boat basin privileges and shall be subject to
expulsion from the Association.
